Tribal Solar Accelerator Fund

Energy Resilience Fund loan fund partners with the Tribal Solar Accelerator Fund (TSAF), a Tribal-led philanthropic program that provides new funding to Tribes to support their renewable energy projects

Initiative Goals:

  • Provide a pathway to ownership for capital-intensive projects such as community solar and microgrids that advance climate resilience and energy sovereignty goals

  • Support TSAF’s growth and capacity building in the Program Related-Investment space

Solar on Multifamily Affordable Housing (SOMAH)

Energy Resilience Fund loan fund provides low-cost bridge loans for affordable housing providers participating in the California-based Solar on Multifamily Affordable Housing (SOMAH) program, which provides financial incentives for installing photovoltaic (PV) energy systems on multifamily affordable housing.

Initiative Goals:

  • Enable more community partners to take advantage of the SOMAH rebate program

  • Reduce risk through assigning the SOMAH rebate as collateral

Community Development Financial Institutions

Many Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) have the desire to offer clean energy loans, but lack the clean energy expertise to comfortably generate a pipeline, review, and underwrite loans, and create new financing products better suited to meet the clean energy needs of their communities.

Energy Resilience Fund loan fund and GRID Alternatives partner with CDFIs to bridge this gap through technical assistance including;

  • Pipeline analysis through remote site assessments and advanced technical assistance

  • Development of project lending opportunities

  • Support in project diligence

  • Co-lending and loan participation
